It is often said that Louisiana Creole, Kouri-Vini, is in danger of dying out. Collected in Févi are the poems and songs of those who say their language is flourishing. Some contributors have spoken and written in Kouri-Vini for some time now; others are just starting on their learning journey. For each person in this book, writing breathes life into their ideas and words; and, with that, their language itself. D. J. Clifton writes, "Here we have Févi, the first book written completely in Louisiana Creole. I am happy I've lived long enough to see it. Congratulations and thank you to the authors, editors, and artists!"
